(disclaimer) [24 Feb 2008|11:47pm]
All original characters are owned by the writers here. The celebrities used as the played-bys have no affiliation with our writers and there is no money being made here. Any questions/concerns about original characters should be sent to the writers as the moderators of this community have nothing to do with their making.

(the concept) [24 Feb 2008|11:47pm]
The year is 2013, in a time where humans are a dying breed. The continent of North America is now torn between the forces of vampires and werewolves. To vampires the humans' purpose is to be their only food source and for the werewolves they are a leveling field in this developing war. Each side has a prophecy of a chosen one. A person who's existence in their race will up their chances of survival a hundred fold. Years of waiting has lead them to Canada where it is rumored Selas Saeran is their supposed "chosen one". Each side struggles to find him while also warring against their opposing race. The first one to the chosen one wins...

P.S. Ree said it best when she said : THIS IS NOT LIKE UNDERWORLD KTNXBAI.

(rules as of o8.19.o9) [24 Feb 2008|11:46pm]
(oo1) : First and foremost, use common sense. The obvious rules shouldn't need to be mentioned. Just ask yourself "Will this possibly tick off the mods?" before you go out on a limb. If you are unsure : Ask. We don't bite unless you ask nicely.

(oo2) : All mature things must be put under a cut with a warning. We are not going to be snobs about age. If you are old enough to piece together intelligible sentences, there is no need to shun you we feel.

(oo3) : There is no update time here. You may write journals as you wish. No first post is needed, but some kind of proof of ability to write is needed. We would like to have active players in RPs, but we do not demand you play 24/7. If we feel you are not active enough, we won't kick you out, just offer the role to someone else to be adopted.

(oo4) : Want to kill off your character? Be our guest. But like real life once you're character is dead... they are dead. Think about it before you do it. (You may kill off a character on a whim without asking approval.)

(oo5) : Once a celebrity is taken, they are forever taken. Even if the PB dies, the role does not open up. It doesn't make sense to have ten different people in game with Josh Hartnett's face (even if a handful of us would love to hit it). Be original. Try a new PB. We could possibly even help you find someone.

(oo6) : Personally, most of us here believe in RP birth control. Like Bob Barker always said, Have your pets spayed and neutered. To us we feel the same about pups, but if you have this uncontrollable need to get your character pregnant they obviously have to have the parts. (Dead parts don't count. Vampires cannot be pregnant or impregnate!) And you have to carry the whole 9 months. That's right. No rewind here. 9 whole months of hormones.

(oo7) : And finally, The following disclaimer must be either linked or copied into your journal.

(race explanation) [24 Feb 2008|11:45pm]
You may notice some repetition, but don't be alarmed. It's really there.

Vampires :
They are reanimated corpses who feed by draining and consuming the blood of living beings.

Traits/Notes :
Regeneration : Their bodies don't so much heal perfectly as they go back to the state the vampire was before death. So if a person is missing an eye before death, when they turn, guess what? It's still missing. If a vampire loses a limb in a fight, it will reform, but alas. It can take months to years, depending on what was removed, the age of the vampire, and the state of control they have. (Removal caused by silver will *not* heal.)
Immortality : They don't age. They don't die by normal means.
Enhanced Strength : Up to the equivalent of lifting a small car.
Enhanced Senses : Their senses are heightened. They hear, smell, and see far better than a baseline human.
Speed : Faster than a human, but equal to a werewolf.
Feeding : They must feed off human blood. It's their only means to prolong their immortal state.
Teeth : Fangs are retractable at will, but are needed for feeding. As part of the vampire package, they will reform and replace if they are broken. (Or missing before death. We all know the dark ages didn't have the best dental care.) But only the canines/fangs. Missing a wisdom tooth before death? They aren't getting it back.
Silver : While stakes in the heart hurt like a bitch, they'll only kill a vampire if it's pure silver. They also have adverse reaction to silver objects. It burns them when they touch and it can leave scars that will not heal.
Holy Water : Ow.
Fire : Seriously, come on. Fire pretty much hurts everyone.
Sunlight : It doesn't do a damn thing to them.
Holy Symbols/Artifacts : LOLZ. A.K.A, they don't do a damn thing either..
Shifting/Hypnotism : They can't do any of that. It's all myth.
Siring/Changing : It's a whole sucking thing. Vampire drinks human blood. Human drinks vampire blood. Vampire drains human dry. Human die. Human wakes up later as one of the undead.

**Additional note, it is reasonable that an aged vampire has a better developed power than a fledgling, but do not take too many liberties with this fact. We would like to keep things fair for everyone so no one feels their character to be insignificant. Nor do we want to force players to have a vampire created since the beginning of time to be equal to all those listed in the comm. Abuse of this, after a mod's warning can lead to your removal.

Werewolves :
Lycanthropes are people with the ability (or curse) to shape shift into a wolf-like creature.

Traits/Notes :
Regeneration : Extraordinary self regenerating abilities. They heal surface wounds like vampires do. Severe/life threatening injuries and missing limbs can put them into a state of unconscious in order to recover and regenerate. (Of course, this makes them highly vulnerable. And limbs missing because of silver do *not* grow back.) If missing a limb or say, an eye, before turning into a furry, they still don't get it back. But from the time of being furry, the rest of the body has insurance.
Lifespan : Furries are not immortal. Unless killed by silver or decapitation, they will live a human lifespan. But guess what, you cheeky little monkeys, they can at least breed. Isn't it great for all the furries that don't practice birth control?
Enhanced Strength : Up to the equivalent of lifting a small car.
Enhanced Senses : Their senses are heightened. They hear, smell, and see far better than a baseline human.
Speed : Faster than a human, but equal to a vampire.
Feeding : They are carnivores. If it's fleshy, they can eat it.
Silver : Silver bullets are the standard, but anything pure silver will do. They have a similar reaction to it as vampires. (As in, they also have adverse reaction to silver objects. It burns them when they touch and it can leave scars that will not heal.)
Fire : Seriously, come on. Fire pretty much hurts everyone.
Full Moon : They have to shift into werewolf form on the night of the full moon. The pull is too strong to fight. Any other time they can chose when they want more fur in their diet.
Becoming a Werewolf : A person has to be bitten by a werewolf or be a child of two furry parents. (Meaning both parents got furry before conceiving the kid.)

Humans :
Lunch. Canon fodder. Night cap.

Traits/Notes :
You see all the perks the other two have? Yeah, humans don't have any of that. It's why they might be just a little screwed.

The Ultimate Random Note :
Decapitation : Dude. Seriously. It does the job on all three. None of them can regenerate a decapitated head. None of them.

**Note: We would like to keep half-breeds out of the game for the simple fact there can be too many liberties taken and far more rules to be made to keep it fair. If you would like to discuss a half-breed, feel free to take it up with the mods, but expect to discuss the details in full and realize we may have you change anything that may make your character any more powerful than the next. Any abuse of power (a.k.a. God playing) will inevitably lead to your removal after mod warning. There are exceptions that may be allowed, but must be discussed with a mod before its execution.
